Jennifer E. Decker holds a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Waterloo, and an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Physics from Université Laval in Québec City. Having joined NRC in 1992, she is known for her research in optical measurement science and metrology. She was a member of the Canadian advisory committee to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) at the start of the development of international nanotechnology policy. She is a member of the German Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH), which she represented as Canadian Science Ambassador. She was also Science and Technology Advisor at the Canadian Embassy in Berlin, Germany, for Global Affairs Canada. On her return to NRC, she was Executive Advisor to NRC’s Chief Digital Research Officer before taking up the position of Consul and Senior Advisor for NRC-Germany.
