EDI Considerations
COPL is committed to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion as defined by its funding agency the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ).
For more information on the FRQ’s EDI principles, visit this link: https://frq.gouv.qc.ca/en/equity-diversity-and-inclusion
As part of its duties and responsibilities to the challenges it faces, COPL has put in place several initiatives to ensure that its actions are consistent with its commitments.
EDI Committee
Since 2020, a committee has been created to address issues as varied as the recruitment of international students, the place of women in science and engineering, and the welcoming, support and successful integration of designated groups.
Survey project
A survey project has been proposed to identify and examine the population that makes up the COPL in order to develop strategies to reduce unconscious bias and promote equal opportunity.
EDI Trainings
COPL regularly collaborates with other strategic clusters to provide EDI trainings. An example of a past webinar included epicene writing. Future trainings are planned to raise awareness of the realities faced by certain designated groups.
- Review of the December 7, 2022 workshop on microaggressions in the workplace

The workshop was facilitated by URELLES, a diversity and inclusion consulting firm.- Thanks to all participating members who took part in the discussions!
- Participate in the training on non-violent communication on Friday, March 17 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm.
