• How can sensors be miniaturized and made to operate in networks in order to gather more information?
• Can silicon-based integrated photonics be combined with microfluidics and microelectronics to create such smart sensors?

These are some of the questions addressed in Professor LaRochelle’s research.

The research involves modeling, simulation, and experimentation. Her laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art technology for characterizing and testing these fibers and devices.
