Optimization and operation of a laser proton beam generation system

This project is in the field of the production, development and use of ion beams by intense lasers, an innovative field that has been made possible by the introduction of power lasers (Nobel Prize in Physics 2018). To this end, the student will benefit from the Advanced Laser Light Source (ALLS) at INRS’s Centre Énergie Matériaux Télécommunications, reaching a peak power of 200 TW (1 T=1012) and an intensity of the order of 1020 W/cm2.
