Professor Christine Tremblay’s advanced work goes beyond borders. The tutorial entitled “Neural Networks for Estimating Lightpath QoT in Optical Communications” was a hit with the European optical communications research community.

Abstract: Machine learning is called to the rescue to address the challenges of managing the physical layer of increasingly heterogeneous and complex optical networks. In this tutorial, we illustrate how neural networks can be used for estimating and forecasting the quality of transmission (QoT) of lightpaths.
